Profile

About Me:
Just a blues-lovin' girlie from uk who likes dogs and horses too.
Probably just the same as all of you - nothing out the ordinary.
Get on with most things and enjoying my life - too short not to.
Just wish I'd spent less time messing about and more time learning to play the instruments I got !! Currently, it's my bass. If I could just get a walking blues goin', I'd be well pleased. Chords, scales, pentatonic, minor this, major that, inverted 7ths......Anyways - So long as I can hear and see and move it at a gig - yeah -well happy.
That's about it.
Favorite Artists and Bands
My time was 60's & 70's, so too many, many, many. Don't want to offend anyone by leaving them out - but, for starters - Led Z, Jimi, Muddy, Elmore James, Sonny Boy W, H. Wolf, Alexis Korner, SRV, BB King, Albert King, Butterfield Blues Band, Captain Beefheart (Diddy Wah Diddy especially), Roy Buchanan, Humble Pie, Floyd, Savoy Brown, Ten Years After, Blodwyn Pig, Steamhammer, Atomic Rooster, Steppenwolf, Elmore James, Rory Gallagher, Dylan, local-ish lads, Larry Miller & Aynsley Lister & Kete Bowers, Eric Bibb, Butt Hole Surfers, Alter Bridge, The Zutons, Opeth, Dream Theater, Primus (for Les Claypole's bass), and Rush (for Geddy Lee), Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, John Mayall, Coco Montoya, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Crowes, Jo-Ann Kelly, Linus Pauling Quartet, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Shirley & Dolly Collins, June Tabor,, Edgar & Johnny Winter - you know the sort of thing. And after having the real pleasure of seeing Johnny (May '08) live at my local cosy place (The Brook, Southampton, UK), he's got to be well near the top of my list. He's back (well, ok, he's never been away, but you know what I mean) and brilliant.... also, better fit in Michael Katon & Walter Trout..... and now, Rick Fowler and GravelRoad !
Oh yes, Don't mind some of the alternative, prog. rock stuff as well, King Crimson, Kevin Ayres (for his lyrics! - don't you just love him ? : ) - bit of roots dub - Scientist, King Tubby, Ijahman Levi, .... and our very own Groundhog Ken for Cherry Red ......etc etc etc for ever and ever.
Oh, and my favourite Chicago Blues Man - Robert Stanley - The Roadman.

Ooo La La !!! Make sure you are in the right country !!!

Only brides are allowed to be late ...

I, too, am out celebrating tonight - friends have a joint birthday/anniversary bash up in the village. Hog roast and other quaint English cuisine.

Have una bella notte !!!!

Luv....xxxxx.......

Hi Jennie.

It will probably take me a while to find my way around here. Once I figure things out, I'll start adding things.

Enjoy your day,
Robert

Yes, Truth. I saw the Yardbirds last week and was listening to Shapes of Things amongst other stuff and it just led on from there (that's 1st track on Truth, written by Chris Dreja who's still the force behind the Yardbirds.'66 and going strong !!)
In my mind one of the first (if not the first) heavy rock/blues albums. And what a line up of talent. Mind boggling.

Off to play it again now !!!
