I find this to be extremely true.

Favorite Artists and Bands: My #1 is Annapurna because they are young, passionate and really bring back a sound, a type of music that I thought had been lost forever.
my #2 would have to be Tab Benoit because he introduced me to the blues and I will never forget his music.
my #3 would have to be Jimmy Hendrix for his unique style of music and the influence he has on everyone who listens to his music.
my #4 and so on... too many to say!

The sad sad truth.

So I was talking to one of my friends who is a pretty well known blues musician in this generation and he called me asking my advice on a new ablum. I told him to go back to original, he has been veering towards a more pop sound with less dynamics in his guitar chords. Although, his vocals are great the rest just has sounded really lame lately. Basically, you would lead a group of people from your town, and even larger - say, the Internet, in springboarding an "awareness campaign" for your friend. Get him to send you a Master Press Kit, and some CDs and photos, and then get creative with spreading the word about him and his music. I have been doing something very similar for my own bands, and for Robin Trower. It helps you feel like you are contributing to his success, and it helps him feel like he is really cared about and lets him know he is not alone in his plight.
