Hi Kevin,
Sorry to have taken so long to reply, not usually like that. I was talking to you last time about the Johnny Winter gigs in UK, I see we are honoured now to have him here as a member, that is just so good.
There is a big dubstep scene in Uk, especially around South & East London, it's still what I would term an underground thing, not so mainstream as d & b became. It's a sign of the times Mary Anne Hobbs was allowed to expand into that genre, national radio (especially Radio 1) seemed tied into a very tight bag for years, but it's been steadily getting better !!
There is a far better range and coverage now with things like dubstep being promoted over the air waves and not just in the clubs. There always was a scene for it, of course.....
I'll see you on myspace - look out !!!!
Cheers..
Jennie.
Hi Kevin,
Just coming out the Johnny Winter gig at The Brook, Southampton, Uk, last night - what can I say. Blew me out. Awesome - he's right back up there. To be honest, wondered 'bout wasting my money, or if he'd even turn up. Wrong on every count I'm very pleased to say.
Why do these places always ask what's your favourite band/artist. I'd be here for ever putting them all in. 60's/70's for me - glad someone else has difficulty remembering......
:- ) :- ) :- ) ....... I think !!
