My interview with Norman Darwen, from Blues & Rhythm Magazine England
ND: Where were born and what was your first experiencs of music?
TS: My first experiencs with music was in church.
ND: when did your hear the blues and what made want to be a blues singer, who were your early influences ?
TS: The first time i heard the blues was on the radio, my first influence was BB King and Koko Taylor, the music was so good, that made me want to sing the blues?
ND: How did you come to Europe?
TS: With the US Army
ND: How do you rate the blues scene in Europe as compared to America ?
TS: In Europe i think it depends where you live, in the States you can hear blues in any city.
ND: Can you give me a brief rundown of the recordings you have made ?
TS: I've done 5 albums and hope to do many more.
ND: Tell me about some of the people you have played with; Luther Allison, Aron Burton,
TS: BB King, The Brothers Band with ( Matt git. Murphy ) Chris DeBurg, and many others.
ND: What makes a good blues singer ?
TS: When you feel the blues.
ND: What plans do you have for the future ?
TS: Recording and making my fans feel good with my blues music.
