October will be two years ago that I
was doing a gig with The Nashtones at the Music City Bar and Grill on
Music Valley Dr. in Nashville. About 10:30 that evening, as we finished
for our first set. I saw the band hurry down off of the stage. I wasn't
sure why but when I stepped out from behind my keyboards to join the
guys for break, I soon found out what the hurry was all about. Sitting
at a table in the front of the room was this the most beautiful blonde
bomb shell that I had ever layed eyes on, in a Black Cowboy Hat. I
thought surely she was from Texas. She must be from a wealthy family in
the oil business or something. Maybe she was here on business or for
vacation. As I sat down beside her, I learned that she was an artist. A
writer, a vocalist, plays 14 instruments, a published childrens author,
has co founded four National Internet Companies and one International
Internet Company and a Mom on top of all of that. She had been living
in the Nashville area for only a few short months and was here to make
a difference in the world of Country Music. We became friends and she
sat one afternoon and listened to my music that I had written and cut
many years before. She was shocked that my music was not all over the
radio. Well, to make a long story short, not only did she become my
friend, she is my best friend. In only two short years, Mandy and I
have created a new kinkd of Country Music. It is called "Continental
Country!" We have written together. I have produced and directed her in
the studio and we have created a great CD together. We have performed
on many stages together as I am the keyboard player, sax player and co
vocalist of The Mandy Mason Band. We just went on an 11 day promotional
tour through Tx, Alabama, Georgia and Ms. in June. The things we have
accomplished together as a team have been fanominal. I am so proud of
her and she has changed my professional life completely. I believe that
the Lord has a plan and I am so excited to see how this whole thing
unfolds in the end. She is called "The Outlaw Princess of Nashville"
but to half of Nashville she is simply The Princess of our Hearts. For
a girl to come to Nashville and in only two years be with four studios,
has one of the best bands in Nashville, cut a full CD, appears wherever
she wants on whatever stage she chooses, and is greatly loved,
respected and revered by musicians and artists in every jenre within
four states is amazing not only to me but to all who know her. To know
her is to love her but she is like a speeding locomotive. She moves
forward 24 hrs. a day at a speed that would kill any artist. She loves
to work and says "Performing is how I breathe!" I don't know how she
does it, I am just so glad that I get to be a part of the Mandy Mason
Machine that is steam rolling through Nashville and surrounding States
within The Heartland! Keep your eyes on this girl. She is a force to be
recconed with and takes no prisoners where the work and the music are
concerned. If you have not had the opportunity to meet Mandy, take the
time. She is truly an inspiration to me and all that know her. This is
the girl to watch!
