law 'n blues

... a few nights ago I was sleeping and suddenly woke up in the middle of the night.

Hang on a minute, I said .... what is the relation between blues and law ? (if any)

As a lawyer and a notoriously "blues inspired" guy, I got asked that question by some Policeman long ago .... I was waiting at the jailhouse to see a guy, disagreeably arrested for some felonies ....

I didn't know what to answer back then and I still don't know now .... but that night I came up with this:

the blues is the law because if you draw a line at the end of the day, you'll see more mistakes than right things

the law is the blues because it tells you what's right or wrong ... and - who knows why - wrong is much more appealing

I convinced myself that the Blues is the Law and that the Law is The Blues ....
