Johnny at the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam...

Johnny steps up for the troops: When Johnny toured Southern California in October, he sat down with Tim Mattox of American Forces Network Broadcast Center to contribute to a "Rock n' Blues Holiday Special" that will air over the American Forces Network. The broadcast features a brief interview with Johnny and plenty of his music, along with tunes from other artists. The American Forces Network reaches 175 countries around the world as well as U.S. Navy ships at sea, serving about 850,000 men and women in uniform.

Reports Mattox: "Johnny was extremely gracious with his time, and I know he’s not real big fan of interviews. But the fact remains: He did this specifically for our military men and women, a great number of whom are currently serving in harm’s way and will do so throughout the holidays. It just shows what kind of person he really is."

On the road: Johnny will open a two-night stand Thursday night (12/18) at the Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry, New Hampshire. (Seats still available for Thursday's performance as well as the one on Friday, 12/19.) On Saturday (12/20), Johnny will play a sold-out gig at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River, Massachusetts. The first 2009 show will take place Saturday, January 3 at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
