Highway Key Touring Kicks Off Service Industry Nights at Gramophone on August 3rd
St. Louis, MO - Friday, 16 July 2010 – Booking and promotion agency Highway Key Touring kicks off the first of a series of Service-Industry Night (SIN) concerts with an impressive triple bill at The Gramophone on Tuesday Aug. 3rd, starting at 9pm. Bands will include local standouts Brown Bottle Fever and Treble Clef Palette, plus nationally recognized bluesman Albert Castiglia, touring in support of his brand new CD “Keepin On”, from the Blues Leaf Records label.
Showcasing an intuition for upwardly mobile talent, and a penchant for mounting original events, Highway Key Touring aims to foster loyalty among music fans of the service industry and to continue growing its presence in St. Louis’ vibrant performing arts scene.
Brown Bottle Fever (BBF) frontmen Zach Pemberton (harp, vocals) and Billy Skelton (guitar) will warm the house with their raucous and inspired brand of genre-bending, blues-informed rock. Even in two-piece arrangement, the committed duo of BBF creates a big, exuberant sound that is compelling to watch and brimming with youthful energy.
Similarly trans-genre, Treble Clef Palette (TCP) has crafted a unique fusion of jazz and funk, with a cornucopia of other influences evident among the six very talented ensemble members. Sorceress of trumpet and vocals, Dawn Weber, leads horn-driven grooves while tasty guitar and otherworldly keys play on a rock-solid, if adventurous, rhythm section. An increasingly active presence on the St. Louis and regional music scene, TCP has a knack for infectious music that makes it hard to find anyone holding still at one of their shows.
Soulful and gritty, Albert Castiglia’s feel for the blues is intrinsic, his musicianship polished and his stage presence charismatic. He emotes with a tone that is at once fresh and hauntingly reminiscent of the past masters. Working professionally for a dozen-plus years in the road-warrior bands of Iko Iko, Sandra Hall and Junior Wells has granted Albert Castiglia’s youth with a worldly complexity and professionalism.
Highway Key Touring’s debut SIN promotion, ‘Original SIN,’ spotlights original music and targets fans of Blues, Rock, Jazz, Funk and Jamband forms, all influences that are certain to be evidenced throughout the course of the event. Future instalments of the SIN series promise to feature other musical genres, such as dance-music driven ‘Electric SIN’ on August 17, which will feature Dawn Weber & Electro Funk Assembly.
