Jeff Konkel - Broke & Hungry Records

Broke & Hungry Records Contest Alert: We're Making A Record And We Need Your Help!

Against all odds, Broke & Hungry Records will celebrate its fifth anniversary this fall. To celebrate the milestone, we’ll be issuing a glorious two-CD retrospective titled MISTAKES WERE MADE: FIVE YEARS OF RAW BLUES, DAMAGED LIVERS & QUESTIONABLE BUSINESS DECISIONS. The collection will be chock full of popular favorites from our catalog and a treasure trove of unreleased gems by artists including Jimmy “Duck” Holmes, Terry “Harmonica” Bean, Pat Thomas, The Mississippi Marvel, Bill Abel and more!

We want your help to make sure the set includes the very best tracks from the Broke & Hungry Records catalog. We’re asking our loyal customers to weigh in with their favorites. Tell us which song you love best and why it should be included in this collection.

We’ll select SIX of the most compelling submissions and include those songs in the collection. These selections will sit alongside picks by yours truly and from the artists themselves. If your song choice is selected, we’ll name check you in the CD liner notes and send you a FREE copy of the release!

To let your voice be heard, e-mail us at info@brokeandhungryrecords.com. Put the words “Pick me! Pick me!” in your subject line. In the body of the message, please tell us your favorite song from our label and the album on which it appeared. Then – in 150 words or less – tell us why you think it’s so damned awesome. Be sure to include your full name and mailing address.

Submissions must be received by Monday, May 31, 2010.

The compilation will be released this fall.

Thanks for your help and for your continued support!

Sincerely,
Jeff Konkel
