The drive to Aberdeen was blessed by a panoramic turquoise blue and ruby red sky,

The Tunnels lies under Union Street with 50 foot of granite surrounding a semi circular tube that hold 150 people, with a nice PA and a sound man that knows what he's doing, and what he was doing was delivering sound directly to the ear and heart, of the Feat faithful,. Rocking funky club and gig.

Gypsy Dave was in the band by the time the sound check was done, he opened up to a room, most of whom had seen him before, and the rest will, he left them all with a smile as big as his own saying "I'm getting to play with them at the end"

The Guys rolled Um Easy from the get go, people were exploding into spontaneous whoops of joy all around, an hour and a half just wasn't long enough Gypsy did return for Sailing Shoes, then took the centre stage for one of his own with Fred chiming Mandolin and Paul sliding along, in a harmony tuning, and Daves face nearly cutting him from ear to ear, Dixie Chicken brought communal singing to a a crescendo of little feat love.

And we get to do it all over again, this time on the radio tonight at 8pm http://www.live365.com/stations/sidders from this place

Wow...Paul Barrere and co come to Aiber-effen-deen and me born and raised on Lowell George licks just a transit van ride away in Bucksburn. I live and play blues in Bangkok now, but did Strathpeffer in my heydey and glad to see the lads following in my footsteps! I still miss Lowell though...home to Aberdeen for Xmas but mistimed it again! Here's my latest country blues lyrics and the first time I have ever included Aberdeen...check my stuff out at http://www.noisehead.com/artist/nh_artist.php?artist_id=4345

China Blues
Mekong Doctor Blues © 2008

Buddy got a winner and he headed out for Kalamazoo
He bought a hundred head a’ cattle and he knowed just what to do
The cattle ate the prairie but his luck kept punching through
A farmer bought his ranch cause he wanted Buddy out of his view

Buddy moved to Austin and bought himself a slide guitar
He took it round to Antone’s where they told him that he’d go far
So he bought hisself a ticket and travelled off to Mandalay
Where they worshipped all his licks but they didn’t have a buck to pay

Buddy caught a slow boat and Blue China came in view
There he mesmerised a princess when he fitted on her missing shoe
He tantalised her daddy and bribed him with a diamond ring
He headlined at his wedding where the Emperor heard him sing

Buddy cut a record and he topped the China charts
He was tattooed with a dragon and they made him the Minister of Arts
The billion disc residuals guaranteed he’d build a pile
And he walked the streets of Shanghai long on cool and style

The princess went a-gliding and the angel never came back
Daddy bought the farm to find her and he died of a money attack
Buddy made a movie just to document this thing
The movie won an Oscar and the people made him King

Buddy lost his princess and was sad she could never be queen
So he bought hisself a cruiser and he sailed across to Aberdeen
The highlanders were curious and hurried out to spread the news
There was a Texan in the harbour with a boat load of China Blues
