What a nite this was, and a surprise for me too, Love the blues and will always record, write and promote it. Held at Jimi Church's fine club THE PLACE here in Nashville. Lots of great perfomers nominated, and the Winners
are. Jimmy Hall, Prisoners of Love and WET Wilie fame, for Sax. Jack Pearson for Guitar, Doc Blakley for best
band, Marion James, female blues singer, James Nick Nixon for traditional blues singer,Shannon Wilford for harp,
Johnny Kantread for speciality instrument on box guitar,Billy Cox for bass guitar, Walter Settles for trumpet, keyboardist MY BABY AND BEST FRIEND RICKEY GODFREY! Jimmy Otey for drums.

Special awards went to Johnny Jones, Ted Garett, Don Q. Pullen, James buzzard Stuart, Charley Dungey, Deford Bailey Sr., Milton Tuner, Jimmy Beck.

Les Kerr performed Les has a great band Charles Wigg Walker, of course the HIGH STEPPIN DANCERS
a group of seniors who did some great intermission entetaining.

This also was pretty cool as Johnny Heinrich was awards Special Award as the best all around Live and Session
Performer and I got one for Blues Promoting.

Food was provided and all home cooked too! And donations to the Nashville Union Rescue Mission Thanksgiving
Drive was too successful two vans loaded with canned goods.

Some of us as Doc Blakley and myself didn't know Channel 5 was taping so the final surprise where lots of calls
telling me they saw me and Doc on the News.

Enjoy this and most of all keep playing the blues.
