Blues News 6/20/08
Hey Ya'll!!!
I know.... I know..... I haven't written lately.... its been pretty crazy around here.... lots of stuff to tell you about, but, I'll spare you today.
I have just a couple of things to tell you (I don't want to overload yer brain!!).
First, a bit of sad news: Our good friend Charles Thomas Belcher, aka, Tom Beltzer, died on this past Blue Monday. He was a great bluesman & author. We will miss his spirit on Monday nights!! The funeral was on Tuesday. It was very touching & beautiful!
Next, some happy news!!!
Tomorrow is Spot Barnett's Birthday!! To help him celebrate it, we have arranged concerts at TWO locations!!! Surely you can make one or the other.
We will kick it off at the Woodrose Winery in Stonewall, Texas from 1 - 5. Silver Creek will be there serving their pork medallions to go with Woodrose's Texas Rain wine. (Recipe hint: Serve Texas Rain over ice with a sprig of mint and a thin slice of lime!! M-m-m-m-m-m!!! Refreshing!!)
Along with playing all of the great old blues songs & standards that we know, Spot and I will be fulfilling our roles as Sex Therapists, so bring yer problems and fill our "tip earn" and we'll fix everything for you!!!
Later, (speaking of Silver Creek!) Spot & I will be joined by the Sensational Bona Fide Blues Band at (yep!! you guessed it!) Silver Creek Beer Garden & Grille in Fredericksburg from 6 - midnight!! We will have an opening act too!! Puente will play from 6 - 8.
There will be cakes, food & drinks at both locations!
