Blue News 5/19/08
Hey Ya'll!!
Just let me dust off my hands so's I don't get the computer all gritty......... been out at the Kerrville Folk Festival for land rush..... had to set up a comfy Bona Fide Blues camp for 18 days (and nights) of pleasurable musical adventures! We WILL have a campfire this year dedicated to blues & blues infected music (yes, you can play folk music there too!!). So, if yer in the neighborhood, drop by an' pick a little!!
TONIGHT!!!!!!! - This is the Blue Monday we've been waiting for! No.... there won't be any blistering leads by the Reverend Bennie B...... nor any tasty Ruben V licks.......... nor any hot sax from Spot Barnett........ and, even though Will "The Kid" will be there tonight, you won't be focused on him!..... This is the first ever Bona Fide Hill Country Blues Women show tonight!!!!!!!!!!
My gosh!!! I invited a couple of our favorite Hill Country Blues Women to play tonight and (after nearly two years of searching!!!) Blues women from all over started comin' outta the woodwork!!! Ann Armstrong set the tone earlier this month (May 5th) with her own style (OK, and some of Steve Hughes' style too!) of acoustic blues! So the stage is set for an incredible night of blues brought to you by some of the best the Hill Country has to offer!!!!
Here's a partial list (its growing even as I write!!!): Annie Acton (of ShAnnie), Melissa Weatherly (of Sol Patch), Emily Lively, Penny Ney (from Johnson City), Jennifer Leonardt (from Austin), Carly Wolf (from San Marcos)!!!! As always.... there's no tellin' who else may show up!!!! The harmonies will be angelic to say the least!!!!!
How are we gonna get all these women on stage you ask?!?!? Who cares??? As long as they are on stage, I'M gonna be one happy hippie!!
Do yerself a favor & DON'T MISS BLUE MONDAY AT SILVER CREEK TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The show starts at 7. Come hungry, thirsty, and wanting for blues..... you won't be disappointed!

I love the line, "I'll be one happy hippy"! Sounds like good tunes, and good people.
As far as I'm concerned that's the name of the game.
