What a busy week!! There are several dates to remember this week, so go get yer calendar and a pencil!.......................................................... Got 'em?? Still lookin' for a pencil? OK............................ Now ya have yer calendar and a pencil, but you need to sharpen yer pencil??........... alright, I'll wait........................... (.....sounds of whistling....). OK now? Here goes!
Start with tonight! Yep, tha's right... Blue Monday at Silver Creek (in Fredericksburg) is gonna rock out again!!! Tonight's guest is Willie Jaye from San Antonio! Our good friend Spot Barnett speaks highly of Willie and you will too when you see him unleash his guitar!! For a primer, call up KFAN (830-997-1793) and ask them to play some Willie Jaye for ya! We will get started about 7 o'clock, so get there early (310 E. Main St.) or call (830-990-4949) for reservations!!!
Wednesday night has just taken on a new light! Starting this Wednesday, I will be hosting Wednesday Night at Rebecca's Table (Upstairs) (also in Fredericksburg) from 7 - 10:30. Every Wednesday, we will showcase a Hill Country musician and at the end of the night (starting at 9) we will open the stage for a singer/songwriter open mic (all music welcome... not just blues!). We are starting off with Emmett Smith this week (next week John Andrew Parks)! To add a little spice to the mix, there's no tellin' from week to week what else may happen... magic shows or a short dramatic production or maybe a comedy act! All for your mid-week-hump-day activities! If ya pick & write yer own stuff, remember to bring yer instrument! Come hungry!! You'll love eating there!!!! Thursday will find my old cohort Emmett & I at Welfare Cafe for our farewell tour to Welfare Cafe (only one more time in May, then we'll be gone!!) We start at 6:30. Don't miss this opportunity to see Smith & Warwick perform one of our last gigs there! Call 830-537-3700 for reservations!
Saturday will find me at Hannah's on Main in Fredericksburg from 6:30 - 9:30. They have a real cool patio (both literally AND figuratively). Come check it out! We have new things cooking there, including a new menu and a brand new show premiering this month!! Come on out this Saturday and I'll fill you in on the details!! Call 830-990-1037 for reservations!
