Rob will tour many of The Medicine Show favourites around Europe through The Medicine Show On The Road. The Highland tour has become a pilgrimage with American Musicians in particular, wishing to trace the roots of "The Great American Song Book" back to its home in the Highlands, Rob says "I am fascinated by the song lines and tracing the roots of music, but equally fascinated with the contemporary shoots that keep it all alive and well".

On of Nessmp3.coms oldest members and stalwalt contributors is comeing to do two shows in the Highland, how ironic we anounce this the week Ness anounces its demise. Beth Wimmer is a powerful, honest & intimate performing songwriter, with
a great sense of humor, and sense of humanity. She grew up in the countryside and oceanside north of Boston, USA. Transplanted at 18 to Southern California for west coast inspiration of the warm and soulful sun. Her songs are sultry & spirited - she plays a strong solo-acoustic set. A California girl who's taken the big hop across the pond, now making music in Europe, living in the Alps.

"Britain's leading blues and boogie woogie pianist" Bob Hall Is On The Road with The Medicine Show
Strathpeffer Coffee Shop Monday 15th March
Ullapool The Medicine Show Loch Broom FM Tuesday 16th March 7pm
Ullapool Argyll Hotel Tuesday 16th March 7pm
Critically acknowledged as Britain’s finest blues and boogie pianist, Bob Hall’s distinctive and original piano style has influenced generations of piano players and left a lasting legacy. He first came to fame in the rhythm ‘n’ blues explosion of the sixties, as a founder member of The Groundhogs and later Savoy Brown. Other blues stars he played and recorded with at that time included Alexis Korner, Peter Green (in the Sunflower Blues Band) and Spencer Davis.
Whilst many of his contemporaries went on to international fame, Bob preferred to stay at home in London, pursuing his passion for the blues and acting as accompanist to a host of touring bluesmen including:
John Lee Hooker, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter, Jimmy Witherspoon, Chuck Berry, Homesick James, Lightnin’ Slim, Lowell Fulsom, Charlie Musselwhite, Snooky Prior, J B Hutto, Lazy Lester, Baby Boy Warren, Eddie Burns, Eddie Taylor, Big John Wrencher, Mickey Baker, Cousin Joe Pleasants, Sonny Terry and Eddie Clearwater.
Bob subsequently led head-lining bands Tramp and Rocket 88, whose sidemen included Jack Bruce of Cream, Charlie Watts of The Rolling Stones and Mick Fleetwood and Danny Kirwan of Fleetwood Mac. From 1979 he has been a regular featured guest with The Blues Band, an all star line-up including Paul Jones, Dave Kelly, Tom McGuinness, Gary Fletcher and Rob Townsend.
In 1991 and 1993 he won the British Blues Connection Instrumentalist of the Year award.
As an acknowledged authority on blues and boogie woogie piano, Bob has contributed to a number of magazines and books and is the sleeve-note writer for Yazoo Records piano blues series. He also worked on the piano sections of The Routledge Encyclopaedia of the Blues.
Nowadays, the Bob Hall Show is pure enjoyment, full of energy and enthusiasm. Much credit for this must go to Bob’s long-time partner, Hilary Blythe, whose crystal-clear harmony vocals and rock-steady bass playing underpin all his performances. A diminutive dynamo, Hilary’s own moving treatment of blues and gospel classics are highlights of their show.
Bob and Hilary’s concerts, as well as their self-penned musical shows “Good Liquor! Hard Times” and “The Wrong Side of the Tracks”, have been widely applauded both in the UK and around the world, by audiences at festivals, clubs and arts venues.
In 2003/5 Bob and Hilary joined the European Blues Association as tutors on its Exeter University Blues Week.
No Bob Hall show would be complete, however, without the anecdotes: a lifetime of music, together with a passion for the minutiae of American folk and blues history, has left Bob with a host of yarns, some true and some apocryphal, which can be guaranteed to raise a smile.
Over the years Bob has made (literally) hundreds of recordings, many of which are still available on CD. His solo albums include two classic boogie woogie piano collections and many others featuring his wry, down-home vocals and original compositions.
Entry is by donation on both night you would be wise to book the coffee shop now or RSVP here.

For 40 years and more, Benny Gallagher has been writing, composing, arranging and performing timeless classics. Small wonder then that, with Graham Lyle, he was one of the first songwriters to be signed by Apple Publishing. Success as an artist quickly followed when the legendary McGuinness Flint stormed the charts with When I'm Dead And Gone and Malt and Barley Blues.
Then came seven more albums and world tours with the majestic Gallagher & Lyle - by which time Benny’s reputation was cemented as one of the UK’s foremost songwriters of his generation. Just a small smattering of those to have covered his songs are Art Garfunkel; Bryan Ferry; Colin Blunstone; Don Williams; Donovan Frankereiter; Elkie Brooks; Fairport Convention; Garth Brooks; Jim Capaldi; Joe Brown; Judith Durham; Little Anthony and the Imperials; Mary Hopkin; Phil Everly; Ricky Nelson; Ringo Starr; Rita Coolidge; Simon and Garfunkel; Status Quo;The Fureys & Davey Arthur; and LemonJelly....
