Profile Information

About Me:
I'm the guy behind the curtain at LiveBluesWorld.

I came to the blues through the door that Fat Possum Records kicked open. I journeyed from a love of punk rock to find R.L. Burnside, and I was blown away. R.L. connected me to Junior Kimbrough, and nothing was ever the same. I followed them back and found Son House, Robert Johnson, Charley Patton, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Bukka White, and so many others. I followed them forward, and found a vibrant blues scene that covered traditional country blues, boogie texas blues, all the way to the punk blues scene that brought me full circle.

I created this site to help promote the blues, to help support the artists, and to help fans find great music. I hope you like what we have here.

I don't get to hang around on the site very much anymore. And I don't have time to provide much support if you are having trouble with the site. But I'll keep the lights on here, so that blues fans around the world have a place to go to discover great blues music.

And of course, when you aren't hanging around LiveBluesWorld, go see some shows. Buy some music. Support the Blues.

What's up with LiveBluesWorld Chat

Hi all

Well, as many of you now know, last week we had an upgrade to our Chat room, and it's been nothing short of a disaster. I was holding out hope that things would improve, but I have no word from the powers that be that a fix is on the way.

We had a great chat community here, and I'm not going to just let it whiter away.

So first off...I'm sorry this has happened. I know that chat is a big part of our community, and I'm as frustrated as you are with the… Continue

1,000 Members!

Well...actually, we blew past 1,000 members earlier today....but I got to this blog post as quick as I could. 1,000 members is a big milestone for LiveBluesWorld. We're building a great online blues community here...artists, fans, promoters...folks who love the blues and want to talk about it, listen to it, and support it.

We're rapidly approaching the first anniversary of the launch of LiveBluesWorld...just a bit over a month away. And over this first year, we've been slowly growing… Continue

LiveBluesWorld and Music Maker Relief Foundation are teaming up to support the Blues!

Hi all

Many of you probably know something about the Music Maker Relief Foundation. Some of you may have even been helped by them at one point in your career. Music Maker is a nonprofit based in North Carolina, USA, with a focus on helping the true pioneers and forgotten heroes of Southern music gain recognition and meet their day to day needs. It's a noble effort, and one that should be near and dear to… Continue

Advertising comes to LiveBluesWorld

Ok, let's face it. No one loves advertising. We're all bombarded every day with messages about lots of crap we don't really need. People trying to swipe our hard earned cash. But unfortunately, it's one of the things that makes the world go around these days, and for a site like LiveBluesWorld, it's one way to help fund ongoing investment in the site to ensure it stays a healthy and vibrant part of the blues community.

So you'll see we're starting to add advertising to certain… Continue

It only looks like I'm a slacker

For those of you that pay attention to your surroundings, you may have noticed that the home page was getting a bit stale over the past couple of weeks. While I haven't had as much time as I would like to add new content to the site, I'm working hard behind the scenes on ways to ensure that LiveBluesWorld continues to grow as the online spot to hang out and talk about the blues.

So much more to do...so little time.

We just added an Instant Messaging function today, and… Continue

Bobby Little told me about you and your work "Keeping The Blues Alive." Thank you for your outstanding efforts. It is refreshing to find someone who is more interested in preserving the art-form than making money. Keep up the good work! Fabulous site!
