Wes Mackey learned to play the guitar from the seasoned old blues players of the Deep South some 49 years ago At 18 he found himself playing in the local bands that backed up touring greats like Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed, Stevie Wonder and many others.
He has three albums Second Chance, Mr Blues and Beyond Words and just finished collaborating on two songs (Passing Me By and It’s Time) with Rap/Hip Hop artist Cityreal for his self titled debut album.

Wes Mackey needs votes to go to MIDEM!
Long time blues vet Wes Mackey 69, was recently selected to compete for a showcase at MIDEM and needs the public to help him get there by voting him through online. MIDEM is the largest music event in the world and is held annually in Cannes, France. Vancouver is home now but his career began in the early 60's playing at dusty honky tonks in the segregated Deep South.
