Profile Information

About Me:
I've been a blues fan for about 46 years! I grew up in London when the British blues scene was happening and so I saw many of the great American bluesmen when they toured the UK and also all the popular British bands.. I started collecting records at a young age. In my last year of school I had a Saturday job in a record store and most of the money I earned went on records! I still have some of those old vinyl records by Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, BB king, Jimmy Witherspoon, Jimmy McGriff and many more! Since then I've amassed a large collection of music and a lot of knowledge.About 8 years ago I joined the local radio station and since then have presented several blues and jazz programmes. In February 2006 I started my own online station Bluesgroove and on here I feature mostly contemporary blues with a sprinkling of jazz plus my own FM programmes. There are many online stations, some with very few or no listeners but I've managed to hang in there and build a loyal following, which is hard when you're outside of the US. I have been to the US many times and lived there for a few months in the 90's. but at the moment Australia is my home!
One problem when you listen to as much music as I do is that very often you've heard it all before, maybe under another name, but when I'm choosing music for my shows I look for stuff that is original above all else. There are just too many bands and artists vcovering the same songs over and over again and if I love the original I'm unlikely to play a cover version unless it really adds something to the song.
Favorite Blues Artists and Bands (Please list at least a few...we use this question to weed out spammers)
John Earl Walker, Ronnie Earl, Duke Robillard, Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray, Derek Trucks, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, T Bone Walker, Jon Cleary, Dr John, Junior Wells, Rod Piazza, William Clarke, Chick Willis, BB King, Lou Rawls, Lucky Peterson, Bruce Katz, Lonnie Smith, Neville Brothers, Holmes Brothers, Peter Green, Georgie Fame and many more!

One hour of good time rockin' and bluesy music!

As I've been playing a lot of new music recently tonight I'm starting off with a couple of new albums and then getting into some old favourites including some good ole rock 'n roll and ending with a track from my very first vinyl album `Green onions' by Booker T and the MGs!

The first hour features mostly jazz and soul and the second and third hour mostly blues. Tonight there was a musical BBQ with some fried eggs and neckbones on the side which spanned the two segments of the programme. Later I had an interview with Geoff Achison featuring tunes from his new CD `One ticket one ride'. I'm experimenting with podcasting at the moment so you can hear this… Continue

This is the first edition of my programme in a a new timeslot combining two previous programmes which I had presented on alternate weeks..

Most weeks it will be a three hour programme with the 1st hour featuring the type of music I would have played on the Rhythm hall where I focused more on jazz and soul music. The second part of the progrmme features music that I would have… Continue

The 30th of december last year it suddenly appear a lighting sceanery on heaven. Luckely I managed to grab a camera and save the image. It was almost like the creator came down in his greatness. With this photo I want to wish you and yours a merry christmas and a happy, new year full of posibilities and great moments.
Peace, love and respect.

Every day we are jumping from one task to another – looking at the watch as a guide. No wonder heart attack is one of the main causes to death. We forget to pause, to look around and to enjoy friendship and family. The world is beautiful – you only have to allow yourself to see it - to experience it. Look at the watch, painted by Jette – given the title “Time is relative”.
