DeSoto Magazine, April 2014The Musical Ambassador: Rambling Steve GardnerBeing a southpaw from Mississippi has a certain ring to it. For blues artist, Rambling Steve Gardner, the real irony and story to be told is that he’s an accomplished Mississippi Delta blues recording artist–living in Tokyo, Japan for nearly three decades. Both here and around the world Gardner has found a sweet spot among an ever increasing number of international blues aficionados who have a fascination with Southern…See More

Walking The Dog, American Roots’N Blues music played on Tubas, Washboards, Upright Bass, Harps, National Guitars, Ukuleles, Banjos, Mandolins, Trombones, Saws...You know, ACOUSTIC STUFF!

Walking The Dog recorded in New Orleans, LA. August 2008, is a combination of original tunes; New Orleans, Mississippi and Memphis string band and jug band standards, a few obscure tunes from the turn of the century and a spiritual thrown in for good measure. The vocal work is shared between Steve Gardner, Washboard Chaz Leary and Bill Steber with everyone else in the house, singing back-up, clapping hands or barking like a dog!

“These guys bring the best of the back porch to the front of the big stage” Peggy Lou WWOZ community radio, New Orleans
