YOU can vote at www.sandiegomusicawards.com. The main page has a big "vote now" button, click that scroll to BEST BLUES. Voting is only online and open to anyone and ends 8/25. This is my 7th nomination in this category! (always a bridesmaid...) Winners announced at the awards ceremony 9/10.

About Me:: Michele Lundeen is a hi-energy singer/songwriter/bandleader that's passionate about her musical expression... heart-on-her-sleeve if you will. She earned the colorful nickname of the "Queen of Steam" by a DJ years ago and critics say she has a real "visceral impact." Her working band, Michele Lundeen & Blues Streak, mix up a blend of classic and contemporary Blues, rhythm & blues, soul, funk and swing. They were regional 1st place winners and represented Blues Lovers United of San Diego (BLUSD) at B.B. Kings in Memphis at the Blues Foundation's 2001 International Blues Challenge (IBC). Michele has been nominated "Best Blues" seven times by the San Diego Music Awards (SDMA).

She performs at many top venues, festivals and concerts in and around the West Coast and has shared stages with artists like John Lee Hooker, Magic Slim, Kim Wilson, Little Charlie & The Nightcats, Savoy Brown, Debbie Davies, Jimmy Thackery, Elvin Bishop and more.

Her debut CD, SONG INSIDE ME, was one of the 2006 "Best Self Produced CD" Final Four out of hundreds at the Blues Foundation's IBC and was also Nominated "Best Blues Album" in 2006 by the SDMA. The CD, co-produced by Johnny "V" Vernazza (Elvin Bishop slide-guitar alumni with Norton Buffalo), also featured other San Francisco Bay Area luminaries such as Grammy winner, slide-guitar master Roy Rogers. SONG INSIDE ME has garnered airplay and positive reviews and feedback from around the globe and is available at Michele's live shows plus CDBaby.com/Lundeen, Amazon.com and BandVillage.com.

Blues and all it's facets have been a passion of Michele's for many years. She is a leader/presenter in the BLUSD "Blues in The Schools" program which she feels is rewarding for all involved.
