About Me:

Mary(Duyugodv Ayosdi) Everhart is a professional blues, classic and southern rock musician (vocalist, guitarist, composer, and studio musician) and was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2010. She is a very proud member of the Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama-Deer Clan. She was born and raised in Tallahassee FL, and has been performing with various local and regional bands for close to 30 years. She has shared the stage with artists Lonnie Shields (Living Blues Magazine's winner, best blues album 1993), and Kingsnake recording artist, Charles Atkins. She has also shared stages with Pat Ramsey,“The Sauce Boss”, Bill Wharton, Theodis Ealey, Chick Willis, and Blind Mississippi Morris,Charlie Hargrett (Blackfoot) as well as many other talented and influential musicians. Additionally, she has performed for former Florida Governor, Ruben Askew, and former Tallahassee Mayor, Steve Meisburg. She stood on the capital steps in Atlanta, GA and played her two songs against paternity fraud in front of a local and national audience. A review of her first album, “Mary Thornton: Rottweiler Blues”, in Blues Revue Magazine (Jan-Feb ’99) compared her voice to Koko Taylor and Lou Ann Barton. Singing in the church choir in her early years, Mary knew she wanted to also play guitar. She finally got her first guitar when she was twelve and taught herself to play by sitting for hours with a “Mel Bay Instructional Guide” book. She honed her skill by practicing and watching others play. It wasn’t easy for a left-handed person to learn to play right-handed, but she persevered. Mary has performed in Bars, Clubs, Festivals, Private Parties and Benefits throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina. Her release, ‘Distant Star” is Mary's second recording and is on sale now on the internet at Cdbaby.com as well as most online music stores and features her “effortless” vocal style on original material that comes straight from her heart, and her life.
