May you always be blessed for the compassion that you have for this great effort to support these musicians! There has to be a front row reserved seat for you guys in "Blues Heaven"--but please take your time getting there....

Hi heres a thought, join rs@radiosubmit.com its free for radio stations the catch is that you have to report the spins back to them so the artist get credit on the charts for the spins. You simply down load the mp3 and put it in your rotation. Yiuy…

There is a killer blues show in the Detroit area, but on commercial radio (WCSX 93.7 FM). It's called the Motor City Blues Project and it is a fantastic program. Runs several hours. I don't know that you could get any of it on to NPR…

"Blues-Time!" on 90.3 WQUB, Quincy IL (www.wqub.org) Friday Nites @9, and replays Sunday Nites @ 6. (NOW BEING STREAMED "LIVE" ON WQUB.ORG) I'd describe it as a "Blues Showcase"-displaying all types, styles, years, and varieties of our wide-ranging "Blues Genre". CD submissions can be sent to: WQUB-Attn: Jerry D, 1800 College Ave, Quincy IL 62301 (NOTE: It looks like I'll be bringing this show to an end on June 1st 2010-please send CD submissions to me at the other Station I work at-listed below: Staradio in Quincy). I plan on joining PRX and making my NPR shows available for nationwide distribution in the near future, under a new show name--STAY TUNED...
My other show is "Blues Till Noon With Jerry D", is on 103.9fm (WQCY-The Fox) in Quincy IL. Runs Sunday Mornings 9-Noon. Station website is www.1039thefox.com. This is normally a "Classic Rock" station, except now it is one which plays "A Blues Tune Every Hour" (which I provide), and has 4 Hours of Blues Every Sunday Morning" (With HOB Radio Hour on Prior) The majority of what I play on this show is Modern Rockin' Blues (I got to start em' crawlin' before they can take the real strong blues stuff!)

2009 Quincy Area Blues Fest!

WOW! The Weather couldn't have been better, and all the Acts were great! It was a pleasure working with all the great musicians this year! And my "gut feeling" about having ALBERT CASTIGLIA as our Saturday night Headliner was "Dead On"! ALBERT IS A STAR! And a class Act! He and the band just shredded it-wow-great performances by all!!
I've recieved lots of great comments about this choice of a headliner. They had everyone off their feet, and eating out of their hands-all up on the front of the stage! What a great night-thanks to all who helped make this event happen! And the surprise of the weekend (but not to me) was BARBARA CARR! The crowd was already into things with Pike Stations Performance-but when Barbara came up and joined them-she put them into a frenzy! Pure Quincy Magic! But let me not forget to thank ALL of our performers this year-you all were fantastic, and the crowds were appreciative of every acts performance! (Go to www.quincblues.com to see the complete 09' Lineup).
Looks like we'll get the bills paid (Halleluah!) , and this, (the best little Fest that nobody knows about) lives on for yeat another year!

This idea was helped along by the cooperation of a Station Manager who appreciated the blues. (I am a "hobby" blues dj--with a passion for the Blues-doing this part-time, with 2 local blues shows) I'm also a Blues Society Board Member, though our Society is currently not paid up as Blues Foundation… Continue

Every day we are jumping from one task to another – looking at the watch as a guide. No wonder heart attack is one of the main causes to death. We forget to pause, to look around and to enjoy friendship and family. The world is beautiful – you only have to allow yourself to see it - to experience it. Look at the watch, painted by Jette – given the title “Time is relative”.

Take care my friend, make time and have a great weekend.
