About Me:

Raised in Memphis, and having performed in countless venues all over the United States, J. J. cut his country, blues and rock teeth on Beale Street and in joints all over north Mississippi during the 70s, 80s & 90s. Career highlights include stints with Jerry Lee Lewis and impromptu gigs and sit-ins with Hall and Oates, Bobby Whitlock and many other artists stopping in the Bluff City.

J. J. has returned to Memphis after living in the Ozarks for a few years, and is currently working on a number of projects. Most significant are weekend jobs with the Shakerz, gigging right in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. He's also working jobs with David Daniels in a project called Blue Armadilla. Recording projects include laying tracks down for Bill Lusk, and squeezing in original tunes of his own, when he has the time.

J. J. uses Roland, Pearl and Premier drums. He is also a practicing songwriter, having a good number of his songs added to set lists of bands he's performed with over the years.
