Johnny Winter at the Vulcan Gas Company in Austin in the late 60s
I remember seeing Johnny the first time, probably 1968, at the Vulcan on Congress Avenue in Austin. Amazing memories from that gig 42 years ago. My favorite album is the Hard Again---the one he made with Muddy Waters and his former band-mates. Incredible CD---as good now as it was in 76. --GatorSee More

8 Hours with Pinetop, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, James Cotton and Bob Stroger
Chance of a lifetime. I get a call from an officer of a big corporation (that I won't name). The guy says, "Look this is very secret, but we're flying in Muddy Waters old band and they're playing for the party we're throwing for our executives and major customers in a 3-4 state area. We want them to have quality equipment and I heard that you have a nice selection of quality tube amps you might loan us for these guys." Mississippi Delta Blues Trip report
My brother and I made a trip to Memphis and down Hwy 61 through the delta May 19-25.
I played with numerous musicians, visited many blues clubs and jukes, visited with Muddy Waters brother, etc.

My First Visit to the Delta
I'm finally making to the birthplace of the blues. Wednesday, May 19th, I'm flying into Memphis where I'll meet my brother who's coming in from Dallas. I've been a week-end warrior for almost 40 years, playing blues and blues-rock. My bro is a huge blues fan and we've always dreamed of this trip.

The Home of the Blues is now officially closed for public and private shows. ****

How sad.....Some others have step-up and trying to fill there shoes, Places like ** Keys Lounge** run by a local player by the name Bobby Counts & my cuz Conzy Trevino who is a local studio & session Drummer here in the DFW area and also a place call Mambo's in Downtown Fort Worth......Have a good one & God Bless.
