A meeting place for all things Johnny Winter: your favorite albums and concert memories, discussions about upcoming shows, and anything else you want to talk about. Welcome!
I work in catering, love going to concerts and festivals, I'm a Star Trek fan, specially Deep Space Nine, my favorite cities are Amsterdam and London. Love horrormovies, Stephen King, Dracula. Also love British comedies and British and Swedish detectives. Lying on the couch, reading a good book and listen to Bach or Mozart.

Now I see it is misspelled as Whoppin on the edges of the Alligator CD. The Jazz Herritage version has it correct, but failed to put the signatues in red ink on the cover art. I'll stick with the Alligator original and give my Jazz Herritage version to a friend.
Presumably a misprint. I know it was first on CD by Alligator Records, then Jazz Herritage put it out on license from Alligator, but it may be that in Europe it was put out by some other record company and the title misprinted.
I see you like Sonny Terry. You have to get a copy of Whoopin. It was produced by Johnny Winter (I believe about the early 80s). There is a discussion of it in Raisin Cain. Johnny plays guitar and Sonny does vocals and harmonica. Also features Willie Dixon on upright bass. GREAT CD. Out of print, but you can pick up on Amazon or half.com. I see it listed often for around $5 USD.
