http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2009/oct/22/music-man-loved-02/I am beyond shocked. Talked to him right after his procedure and then had a call to him and was waiting to hear back from him.WOWI have never, as others have echoed, met a greater connector than Dennis Brooks. It is like a vertebrae from the entire backbone of the blues world has been removed. When people say, about people, "Ah that guy know…See More

"Clarksdale maybe. On Beale Street the locals shell out the big bucks to turn the street into a "Freak Nik" fest with Disco and Hip Hop blaring into the street. The blues bands, which there are some very good ones, are not the focus. The…"

"Not to speak for Chad but I totally get his Rule #1 He was not saying he was playing top 40 cover songs to appease the crowd but playing to an audience with a bit of a discerning ear. He is correct and you better get on with it in that scenario or…"

About Me:
ELAM MCKNIGHT'S "DEVIL MINDED WOMAN" was voted by fans as the Best Blues Song in the Musician's Atlas sponsored 7th Annual Independent Music Awards. Elam was selected from thousands of applicants from all over the world as a finalist by a celebrity panel of judges that included Snoop Dogg,Wynona,Norah Jones and Tom Waits among others.

Elam was also chosen with blues partner Bob Bogdal, as 2008's Solo Duo Representative of the Sonny Boy Blues Society, for the International Blues Challenge. This event, which will be held from February 4-7 2009, is sponsored by the Blues Foundation (Memphis, TN) and has hundreds of competitors from around the world.

Currently Elam is booking with Bob Bogdal as a BLUES DUO perfroming both Acoustic and Electric Sets of what Sonny Payne of King Biscuit Radio refers to as "the real stuff." Both have an extensive history as individual artists and performers and now hope to make more history as a duo. Their style together is akin to both the rural Mississippi blues of the Delta and the Hard Charging Electric style of the Hill Country.
They mean business and are a perfect fit for any festival setting, house concert, music venue and corporate event. This year the duo will play the Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival, the West Plains Opera House, the Desert Highway Showcases at the Folk Alliance and numerous other venues, radio stations and regional and national festivals. The duo also plans a tour for the summer of 2009!

Hi Elam,
Here is my wish for the very best to all my LiveBluesWorld friends as we take the music of our heritage into 2009 and the 21st century.
It's an honor to be on this journey with you. ..and a pleasure to be your friend. Thank you for allowing me to be a member of the community.

Hey Elam. Glad we crossed paths at the Juke Joint Festival this year. Wish I had seen your set, but my kid had other plans at that particular point in time. You gotta get some of your music up here man...show the people what they are missing!

Let me know about your planned trip up through NYC, and we'll try to make something happen.
