About Me:: I love and listen to the Blues most of the time..naturally. Female vocalists are my favorites. Anyone and everyone from Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Big Maybelle, Big Mama Thorton, Chicago's Finest Blues Women, Koko Taylor, and Etta James, right up to the new and up coming like little Jessie Payo and my very good friend Sherry Pruitt...to name afew...there are just so many great female vocalists that I love and hold dear to my heart...I hope you all know who you are!!

I have an appreciation for all kinds of music but am especially dedicated to the preservation and promotion of blues music. I have been actively involved in the Southern California blues community for many years and have recently relocated to Memphis and am looking to make some new blues loving friends.

I served on the board of the SoCal Blues Society for five years and am a booking and event coordinator who has produced/coordinated festivals, shows and fundraising events at various venues throughout Southern California.

In a "nuts shell" I am just an old woman working my ass off to keep the blues alive...I FEEL BLUE...DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO...EVERY WOMAN IN MY FIX IS BOUND TO FEEL BLUE TOO

Favorite Blues Artists and Bands (Please list at least a few...we use this question to weed out spammers): I have to give props to afew of my friends...The list is a very very long one and here are just a few...The Mannish Boys, Zac Harmon, The Forty Fours, Teddy Lee Hooker and Phil Gates...I am happy to see them all doing well in their individual efforts to keep the blues alive. There are so many talented blues musicians out there it is impossible to name them all at this moment. I will update my list later and again...I hope all of you know who you are too! I have lots of favorites and folks I truly love to death!

If anyone ever tells you that Southern California ain't got the BLUES...have them think again!

Again, I love my female blues vocalists, love Muddy, the Walters, John Lee, Lowell, Smokey, Willie Dixon, PeeWee Crayton, Uncle T and so many many more.

FYI...there is a new Blues Society in Nashville that has been started by some very dear friends of mine. I guess I wasnt thinking well and apologize for not posting this last week. Saturday night was their kick-off dinner show/membership drive featuring Bobby Rush. It was fabulous! It is never to late to join and they will be having shows on a very regular basis. SMOKEY WILSON CD AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE

SMOKEY WILSON and The Andy T Band...the last CD that Smokey recorded in 2003 prior to his stroke. There were only a limited number of these CD's printed and we have a few left. If you are interested in purchasing one please let me know. "All" proceeds will go to Smokey Wilson. This is obviously a good cause and you would not only be contributing to him but to keeping his music alive. That is one of the greatest gifts you can give back to a musician who brings us joy through his music.

NEGLECT

So sorry my friends. I have truly neglected posting on this site for several months. I have had some health issues for awhile now and during that time I just got out of the habit. So much has happened..happy and sad. Tonight the passing of Mama Laura the founder of Babe's and Rick's in Los Angeles is weighin heavy on my mind.
