Darren Watson wins 2008 ISC Blues section.

DARREN WATSON'S TUNE ON TOP OF THE WORLD.It was announced earlier today that New Zealand blues musician Darren Watson's song 'All Going Wrong' has been judged the best blues song in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition for 2008. In his twenty year career, New Zealand bluesman Darren Watson has established a reputation second-to-none for world class, original rhythm & blues.

Darren has opened for and worked alongside Koko Taylor, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Robert Cray, Billy Boy Arnold, Doug MacLeod, Doctor John, George Thorogood, and Keb Mo.

He has recorded six albums including two with Smoke Shop, a band that made the national pop charts in NZ several times in the '80s with Watson-penned tunes. And King Size, his second solo album which was nominated for 'Best Roots Album' at the 2003 RIANZ Music Awards.

As gear goes, I haven't bought any thing years.
My Epi and Amp are the newest thing I use.
I bought my overdrive in 78', lol.
Use to use a Strat, but unless you set it up like
Jeff Beck,(oversized neck/body and baseball bats for strings),
there's not enough carry for me.
Nice to hear from you!

Hey Darren !!!!!!!! Thanks for the comment on one of my basses. That one was one of the first basses to come out of the fender Custom shop in Corona,California when it was started in 1987. I have a bunch of 50's vintage Fender P Basses and that one plays and sounds as great as any of them
