Hey Craig, a little taste from our music. If you like it there is more to hear at my site and I would like to be your friend. If it's not your taste I am sorry to have taken your time. Much respect. Grandpa_Erik
A confirmed blunatic for more than three decades, a guitar player for 25-plus years and a writer for the last ten years. I worked and toured extensively with Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson for a couple years and played in a number of regional bands around New England and on the East Coast. Over the years I had the opportunity to sit in with many of the blues greats including Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, Magic Slim, Billy Branch, Detroit Junior, Sunnyland Slim, Sugar Ray & The Bluetones, Ronnie Earl, Homesick James and too many others to list. Around 2000, I quit playing professionally and took up writing - something I'd wanted to do since first becoming interested in blues. I've had my reviews published in Living Blues and the now-defunct Blues Access magazine. I currently write and contribute reviews to a number of websites and have written liner notes for two CDs - the latest being Nick Moss & The Flip Tops - Live At Chan's - Combo Platter #2 with Lurrie Bell. I've also started playing out again - currently a few gigs a month and local blues jams. I have a large blues archive which consists of approximately 1,500 LPs, another 1,500 CDs, plus hundreds of 45s and 78s. I am a self-employed painting contractor.
Favorite Blues Artists and Bands
Too many to list, but Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter, Elmore James, The Mannish Boys, James Harman, Johnny Young, The Allman Brothers Band and many more are always in rotation on the CD changer here at Blues Central Northeast.
