Blues music or otherwise, I can appreciate the work that goes into creating an CD that has a high production quality. I understand the painstaking process that making a record can be. I have a great respect for the time it takes to get your music to sound exactly how you want it. Some folks say that Chad Nordhoff is "The Real Deal". Like him I have no idea what that really means. Unless it means that what you play is what you are without a bunch of pretentious B.S. about being a "blues man" or some such. Every time I get a CD to review from Bloomington, IN, I get excited because it seems there is a very strong roots music movement going on up there at the moment. Chad Nordhoff, although currently residing in Memphis, TN, to my understanding, has produced a nice little addition to that sprouting Bloomington scene with this self-titled effort – an all-acoustic foray that blurs the lines between delta blues and folk murder ballads. It’s a name some folks around Evansville still recognize. Originally from Bloomington, Chad Nordhoff spent a span of his career locally, honing his chops on guitar, while crafting music in the Blues and traditional Country fashion.
