Hi Charley--I like the name of your band :-). Thanks for the message. Yes, does sound like we have some of the same influences, and espicially the Master... Keep playing, sharing, giving and enjoying Life!

I grew up in a home with music! Both of my parents are professional musicians--(classical), so I was trained in that genre--first piano, then violin & voice, but loved rock 'n roll (I think that was what I was listening to--we lived in Texas then, so...) at 4 & 5 yrs old, I remember pulling the radio over the counter edge and changing the station from classical to listen to a sound --until my mother came and made me change the radio station.
At 12, I taught myself to play guitar--learned all the songs by ear on the first Grand Funk Railroad album. About 15, I heard BB King, Muddy Waters & others on a radio blues show and was hooked forever! But I do love all kinds of music-60-70's rock, country, gospel. God gave me the ability to communicate through music from my heart....
I've been in bands (playing either guitar or bass)for 30+ years, in full time ministry as worship/music leader; been to Russia two times, from coast to coast on the streets singing; a semi-finalist in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2005 and 2008 in the solo/duo category; currently playing in venues and churches.
Favorite Blues Artists and Bands
BB King, Bonnie Raitt, Eva Cassidy, Gatemouth Brown, Eric Clapton, Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Darrell Mansfield, Glenn Kaiser, Will McFarland, Don Potter, Morning Star, Lindall Cooley, Joann McFatter, Darlene Zscheck, Andrae Crouch, Shirley Winans, Chris Tomlin, and many more!

Thanks Barb. The band name actually fits us since we are a biker band and Christian in our orientation. The saying "on a wing and a prayer" actually came from WWII airplane pilots when they went on a mission and weren't sure they'd make it back. We just liked the way it fit us, the wing thing being common to motorcycles and all.
Hello Barb- sounds like a lot of your influences are the same as mine, especially the early Grand Funk sound. Probably the tightest 3 piece band of that era, and when they added Craig Frost on keyboards later on, just got better. Like so many bands from that era (CCR for example), it's a shame they couldn't get along and broke up. But that is musicians for you, just a different breed of people and passionate about what they do to a fault.
