unreleased live johnny winter concert?
hello fellow johnny winter fans; i recently read that collectors choice music is going to release a previously unreleased johnny winter and (w/rick derringer) cd : live at the fillmore east oct. 3rd, 1970 i believe it's supposed to come out sometime in april. let's keep our fingers crossed...( see yourwaytomusic.com) also- go to wolfgangsvault.com for some free streaming live music of numerous artists; they have some killer jw shows you can listen to, & hopefully will make available for download/purchase eventually. you do have to sign up to listen, but it doesn't cost anything just to listen. there's one jw show in particular: live at san diego sports arena 3-30-74 that is probally about the best jw concert i've ever heard! it has a killer 19+ minutes version of silver train w/killer slide guitar jam/workout! also a real cool 7 minutes version of jumpin' jack flash. check it out...

hi jeff- I read the same thing about the live JW AND disc from the 10/3/70 Filmore show and can't wait to get ahold of it. Collector's Choice put it out on their own label, but according to their catalog it'll be ready for sale on Feb.16......ten short days from now.

Cool! I have to order one. I see they also have a CD titled "Winter, Johnny: And Alive (germany)" which seems to have the same set list as the studio And album. Cost is high though.

My copy of this album just shipped today. Shipping/handling was $7 though. You can do $4 cheaper shipped thru CDuniverse.com though they say not available to ship until sometime in April, may be worth the wait. This album looks great, some songs I have not heard live with Rick Derringer on board.

hey paul- say your copy shipped today??? where'd you get yours from? i don't care if the shipping or whatever does cost a few bucks more; the sooner the better, because amazon says it won't be available until april 20th, so i had no idea it might be available sooner....(thanx).....

I ordered the JW Filmore CD from Collectors Choice Music (ccmusic.com). Got the email yesterday from them saying it shipped out.
And Munckmusic.com just shipped the Johnny Winter 2009 New Orleans Jazz Fest CD that I ordered from them.
Looks like I'll be spinning a couple of new disks next week. I'll have to report back on both. -
