Fans have long been demanding a live CD from John Earl Walker and now they have one! This was John Earl Walker's first appearance in Germany and Europe although there had been strong interest in bringing him there for some time. The band were invited to play at the 40th Burghausen Jazz festival in March 09 and the German audience knew they were in for something special! The excitement of the concert was captured on this live CD. Song after song built up with intensity and the audience really responded to the themes in the songs and the high quality musicianship which left them shouting for more. John Earl Walker's band included two long time band mates, Peter Harris on bass and Slinky Tremelo on guitar and new members Frank Diorio on drums and Tommy Keys on piano.
John Earl Walker has been playing guitar since the mid 60's and performing his own original material along with blues standards from the early days. By the time he was 18 his band were supporting artists like Buddy Guy, Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, Dr. John, John Mayall, Fleetwood Mac, and many other luminaries. The band became Capitol recording artists Plum Nelly and played at Carnegie Hall, opening for the James Gang, on May 15, 1971. There aren't too many blues artists who have had the privilege of playing at Carnegie Hall! Since those days John Earl has performed with a number of bands but in recent years has led his own outfit. He has released 4 CD's of original material that have received airplay worldwide and have sold well.
With no exception - the albums made by John Earl Walker are lively, with catchy songs and appealing to both rock- and blues lovers. With his recognizable guitar sound combined with talking vocals you can easily pick him out so he's a regular on the Blue Ears Blues playlists!

`He has to be careful not to catch any house he plays on fire. The fire that flies from his fingertips would leave any venue he plays a pile of smoldering ash. He is incendiary...pure fire..!'
