Tuning help

For about a year ago my vife visited Mexico and bought for me a Charrango. My problem is how to tune the instrument. I received a cd with some general instructions for different special string instruments, but I must have got it wrong - I just managed to ruin one of the doble strings. Anyone who know this instrument?
