LOS BLANCOS’ MARK NANNI WINS FIRST-EVER “2009 KEYBOARDIST OF THE YEAR” AT THE RECENT 5TH ANNUAL SOUTH BAY (LOS ANGELES) MUSIC AWARDS EVENT!!
(SYRACUSE, NY) – Mark Nanni, longtime leader and co-founder of “Syracuse’s’ Hardest-Working Blues ‘n’ Zydeco Band,” Los Blancos, won the first-ever “2009 Keyboardist of the Year” Award at the recent 5th Annual South Bay Music Awards in Los Angeles, Calif. (www.southbaymusicawards.com). Nanni and the band were nominated in three categories – “Best Independent CD,” “Blues Artist/Group of the Year,” and “Keyboardist of the Year.” The quartet’s CDJUST THIS ONCE was selected a “Top 10 Album Cover of the Year” by So Cal-based online music magazine, ROCKWIRED (www.rockwired.com/top10albumcovers), with kudos also going to local Syracuse artist (and CD cover artist), Elliot Mattice. Los Blancos also won a 2008 SAMMY (Syracuse Area Music Award) for “Best Blues CD.”
