As a Blues DJ, I've got this great gig going at our Local "Classic Rock Station". I've worked with them-and about a year and a half ago we changed things up from the norm, by adding "A Blues Tune Every Hour" to the regular programming schedule. I currently have about 240 tunes loaded into the music vault for this (that's all they'll let me have loaded in at a time), and I do rotate stuff in and out to keep it fresh....
I have a few tunes in by the following Artists-(Alph. Order) Albert Cummings, Ana Popovic, Anthony Gomes, BB, Beat Daddys, Bernard, Big Al, Bill Perry, Buddy, Chris Duarte, Chris Cain, Coco, Colin James, Dave Hole, Deborah Coleman, Delbert, Eric Sardinas, Jef Healy, Jimmy Hall, Joe Bonamassa, John Mooney, Johnny Winter, Junkyardmen, Lang, KW Shepherd, Koko, Larry McCray, Lil' Ed', Lucky, Luther, Magic Slim, Matt Schofield, Michael Burks, Popa Chubby, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Roomful, Roy Buchanon, Roy Rogers, Scott Holt, Shawn Pittman, Shemekia, Sherman Robertson, Sonny Landreth, SRV, Studebaker John, Susan Tedeschi, Tab Benoit, Taj, Tinsley Ellis, and Walter Trout...To hit the main ones.. I just recieved acouple Albert Castiglia CD's that I'm sure to find something to add into the mix.
--BUT-what I thought I'd ask our knowledgable group-is-waht are some of your suggestions for great rockin' individual blues tunes that would work well on this format? (I'm just curious to hear what everyone has to recommend) Let's see what you'd add....

Check out the latest album from the Floyd Lee Band called "Doctors, Devils and Drugs" which reached #1 on XM radio. You might also be interested in the award wining documentary film called Full Moon Lightnin' which follows the band's incredible story for five years. The album DDD was recorded during the filming of the movie. To check out the album and the film go to www.fullmoonlightnin.com.

The Audio from Video is what it is. Albert does a tribute to his old boss Junior Wells

How about Freddie King's "Going Down?" That's pretty blistering, as it a lot of his stuff. Also, if you want something that's got a rock crossover appeal, I have a turn on my latest album "Called Whiskey and Maryjane" that's a pounder with Dicky Barrett of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones guesting on vocal. I've also got some other hot shot numbers like "Move Baby Move" and "Do Wrong Man" that pump the tempo and attitude. Also, check out the Dynamites from Nashville http://www.myspace.com/thedynamitesband

If you like, I'll have them get you a CD pronto. Will keep thinking about this…
Lets not forget Blues Guitarist Gregg Wright.
