As a Blues DJ, I've got this great gig going at our Local "Classic Rock Station". I've worked with them-and about a year and a half ago we changed things up from the norm, by adding "A Blues Tune Every Hour" to the regular programming schedule. I currently have about 240 tunes loaded into the music vault for this (that's all they'll let me have loaded in at a time), and I do rotate stuff in and out to keep it fresh....
I have a few tunes in by the following Artists-(Alph. Order) Albert Cummings, Ana Popovic, Anthony Gomes, BB, Beat Daddys, Bernard, Big Al, Bill Perry, Buddy, Chris Duarte, Chris Cain, Coco, Colin James, Dave Hole, Deborah Coleman, Delbert, Eric Sardinas, Jef Healy, Jimmy Hall, Joe Bonamassa, John Mooney, Johnny Winter, Junkyardmen, Lang, KW Shepherd, Koko, Larry McCray, Lil' Ed', Lucky, Luther, Magic Slim, Matt Schofield, Michael Burks, Popa Chubby, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Roomful, Roy Buchanon, Roy Rogers, Scott Holt, Shawn Pittman, Shemekia, Sherman Robertson, Sonny Landreth, SRV, Studebaker John, Susan Tedeschi, Tab Benoit, Taj, Tinsley Ellis, and Walter Trout...To hit the main ones.. I just recieved acouple Albert Castiglia CD's that I'm sure to find something to add into the mix.
--BUT-what I thought I'd ask our knowledgable group-is-waht are some of your suggestions for great rockin' individual blues tunes that would work well on this format? (I'm just curious to hear what everyone has to recommend) Let's see what you'd add....

You might wanna put this question directly to some of the folks who inhabit this place. I know of at least two killermonsterwowI'msomekindawickedjealous players/bands who are currently at this site.
They know their stuff, REAL good.
Jerry

We hope you enjoy Albert's CD's as well as the other artists on Blues Leaf.

Some artists not on Blues Leaf.
1) Damon Fowler. Albert was the one who turned me on to him years ago. Brand new CD on Bling Pig.
2) Dave Gross. 23 year old kid who plays with the maturity of someone three times his age.
3) Motor City Josh. Josh has a new CD out . Josh has a profile on Live Blues World

From the female side
1) Sweet Suzi "Smith" and The Blues Expierence
A Blues Version of Janis Joplin, but with a better voice

Suzi is at the IBC this week. Suzi sang background along with Nicole Hart
on Albert's "Night Time Is The Right Time"
As a matter of fact-I forgot to list Motor City Josh--I just added a couple tunes from his Howlin' Wolf Tribute CD he did...I really like the "Wolf" dubs added in on "Spoonful", and I've got good responses from it also. I just recieved Damon Fowlers latest-and I just loaded it in my MP3 player to review. But I have not heard of Dave Gross-Do you know what label he's on? Sorry I haven't heard of Suzi Smith-(I unfortunately haven't been able to make it down to the IBC yet...AND THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR REPONDING-I thought this one would get a good discussion going-and I look forward to even more responses...Jerry D
Dave Gross is on Vizztone, the kid is the real deal.

When I get you Albert's non Blues Leaf Recordings, I'll dub a copy of Suzi'd CD(she's a friend) and I'll include it.

I forgot to mention Ian Parker from England, he's an amazing performer, writer, singer, guitarist...
Jerry

Teasing The Train that is mentioned by Terri is not on the CD's Albert has made for Blues Leaf Records.
Teasing The Train is on Albert's 2002 Self release "Burn". Albert also has a duo CD he made with
Graham Wood Drout called "The Bittersweet Sessions". I'll have to get you these two CD's as well.
I do have the classic Tommy tune-Can't keep a good man down, and have been meaning to add more-I'm just waiting on a friend who told me he's got a couple more Tommy Castro Tunes he's like to see added in the mix...(And I do have the Wayne Baker Brooks tune--I'll see what I can do about adding in that one also), Thanks

Check out my Member Profile-Jerry D, Quincy IL, and I've got my Station's Address listred-I look forward to giving your stuff a spin, and I try to put everything I get to work on my shows...Jerry D
Check out some Moreland & Arbuckle, Cedric Burnside and Lightnin' Malcolm, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Left Lane Cruiser.
Got one M&A tune in rotation-one of my fav's-Hound Dog Taylor's "Gonna Send You Back To Georgia", (and I've used others from them on my other show, and Alvin's stuff too) Don't have any Cedric & Lightning-though they played our fest a few years ago, and I've not heard of Left Lane Cruiser-what Label are they on?
Thanks Chad,,,,
