Oh Man! It's fully deserved! Music is fenomenal but the film Full Moon Lightning is really superb, heartbreaking experience. That's must-have masterpice for every bluesfan all over the world!

greetings from Poland
Piotr
Thank you Piotr....It still really surprises me how many have never heard of the Floyd Lee Band. Everyone should at the very least check out the album Mean Blues which is considered a masterpiece. Bill Wax from XM Radio has declared that this is the greatest album he has heard in a decade. Take a listen to the attached mp3 of his speech at the films premier in Washington DC.

Congrats, John---that's great news!!!
Thank you Patrick....but all the praise should be directed towards Floyd Lee and Joel Poluck for their incredible music and willingness to share this one in a million story.

This DVD depicts the loss of a loved one due to cancer and the search for family members...Joel Poluck’s music and Floyd Lee’s voice team up to create a soundtrack that shares their life experiences with us through the blues...it really is a must see. This film will touch most of us on a deep emotional level.
I'm really glad to see Joel's music doing so well.
Thanks Vic for your words...well put. I hope everyone gets a chance to see this film...If not on DVD contact your local Blues Society about getting this film to your area in 2010.
The screening in Tupelo went really well. It is great to turn on all those indie film folks into blues fans. They absolutely loved the music and of course the story. It really is touching having people in tears coming up to me to tell me how moved they were by the story. Something I never get to see with my shows on television. Stay tuned we'll have some exciting news regarding the film.

Judy Whiting brought it over to my place and we watched it here. GREAT FILM John.
Excellent...Can't wait for the rest of Nashville to take a peak. Be sure to spread the word....we still have some of the Amogla Session CD's still available for FREE to those that help us spread the word about the film. Just head on over to www.fullmoonlightnin.com and click the Tell-A-Friend button and the rest is easy.

Thanks again for your kind words.

Looks like the film and soundtrack are hitting a critical mass....people are starting to cover songs from the soundtrack of Full Moon Lightnin'. Check this guy out doing a version of Mean Blues by the Floyd Lee Band.

HERE

He does a pretty good job.
Here is another review of the film. Click Here
The new review is excellent.

Oh by the way, Holger Petersen, the host of Saturday Night Blues on CBC radio, finally played my request for 'Full Moon Lightnin' last night, so I've asked him to play more tracks from the CD on future shows.
