I'm an acoustic blues guitarist and am looking for tunes normally done with a full band etc that come out well as acoustic solos. Sort of the unplugged versions. Before anyone mentions Eric Clapton unplugged - yep been there done that and there are a couple tunes on that that fit the bill for sure. SRV with Pride and Joy (I posted that video in the SRV group) is another shining example of what I'm talking about - any others?

Thanks for your help.

Go to my LBW profile and have a good listen to Whos Lovin Who. Once you really here the lyrics and the acoustic guitar work, you may find it cool to perform. Or not...
Good Luck

Since virtually all blues is derived from some kind solo acoustic origin, I'm having a harder time thinking of a song that wouldn't work. It's all in the approach. Listen to both Clapton and Robert Johnson playing "Crossroads" then, totally disregard both. If you're going to play straight from the tab without the rhythm section, stop right there.

Open tunings can add a lot more meat to the acoustic sound. Don't be afraid to radically change the key of a song or make an entirely new riff.
She Caught the Katy fit the bill well for me - I'm not so advanced. I should have mentioned I was looking for intermediate player stuff.
I take it you are looking for acoustic versions of bluessongs normally played by a full band.

If I'm correct in my assumption, you should take a look at John Hammonds liver-version of My Time After A While. I friggin' love that performance!

Come to think of it...here is a clip of him playing it on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3fygVMzTaY :)
He sure is going at it - thats a great one - thanks.
