Hello Bluesfolk,

We were just wondering who might be planning to make the pilgrimage to Memphis to attend the IBC February 5-7. We're looking for recommendations on acts to catch - plus we're always interested in saying hi and meeting the folks we talk to online. We weren't planning to attend this year but we keep remembering how much fun Beale Street and the IBC is so we don't think we'll be able to resist hopping in the car and heading for Tennessee. Its a 12-hour drive from Michigan so that should say a lot about the fun factor of this event! (Last year Eden Brent confided that the IBC was something akin to a religious experience because of the great music and the camaraderie and the general magical vibe of the entire weekend.)

I'll be in the Youth Showcase at Blues City at 1:00 PM on Friday, and then I'm in the solo/duo thing with the Billtown Blues Association.

I am still trying to find someone around here that wants to go so I might be there..
If you are coming into town early be sure to catch Delta Highway live at Mr. Handy's Blues Hall Tuesday and Wednesday nights on Beale Street.
Sounds like a blast...my buddies from high school will have their band there "Nothin But Trouble" out of Dover Delaware...check em out on Youtube doin' "Who Do You Love": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnICU5XoESc
The Sea Carney Band will play at The IBC Kickoff Party on Wednesday at The New Daisy along with Homemade Jamz Blues Band, Trampled Under Foot, Jonn Richardson and Zac Harmon. I look forward to seeing you again Rusty!
No plans to play anywhere else, but I will have my guitar!
We look forward to it. Maybe we'll run into each other at a jam. Safe journey.
I'm definitely planning to catch Delta Highway on Tuesday night at Mr. Handy's and celebrate Mr. Santini's birthday!
My husband and I have attended the IBC for the last 7 or 8 years purely as spectators and lovers of blues! The IBC is indeed a bit of a religious experience. Once you go you count the days until you can go back and do it all over again! Blues at its best and lots of damn good people to get to know! Enjoy the trip hope to catch your act in one of the venues! And thanks in advance to musicians for keep the blues alive!!!

If you are in town on Wednesday evening, catch the concert after the Grizzley game at the New Daisey theater (I think, but check it out on the Blues.org website) as the last years winner Trampled Underfoot will perform (awesome) and a runner up from the year before, Homemade Jamz Blues Band (young group, drummer is like 9, they too are awesome!) Catch these acts and more Wednesday evening! You won't regret it!!!
