Upcoming redesign sneak preview

We have a redesign to launch over the coming week, with lots of great improvements to the layout of the pages on the site. Below is a sneak preview. And if you make it to the bottom, we'll let you in on some exciting new features we'll be adding real soon.

Photos

On the photos main page, we've gone from this layout:

To this:

Thumbnails are much larger and the content is full width. Here's the old photo detail page:

And here's the new layout:

Photos are large and in charge, and comments have more room to breathe, as well as a new simpler style. The new styles also extend to album listing pages:

Videos

Here's the old Videos main page:

The videos become the focus and we've added the length of videos as well as a few other key pieces of information right here on the Main page. Here's the old video detail page:

Leaner, meaner, and coolest of all, the "Related Videos" section intelligently disappears to accommodate the embedding of large high-definition videos:

Groups

Here's the old Groups Main page:

The default view is now "Most Active," and the Groups themselves are now front and center. Group admins can now turn group features on or off via the updated group information page:

They can also determine whether or not members can send messages to the entire group, in addition to adding new features including an RSS module and comment wall. Here's the new Group page itself:

Members are much more prominent, and as mentioned the page allows for an optional RSS module and comment wall.

Members and Profile Pages

The Members section has also been updated from this:

Member profile pages previously had the About Me, Photos and Videos sections in the left column:

They're now able to stretch their legs:

We've adjusted the placement of items on profiles pages to use available space much more effectively, and we'll be offering even more flexibility on the layout of this page in upcoming releases.

Forum and Blog

We've also spruced up Forum discussion pages. Here's the new design, featuring a new header style, smaller attachment icons and a more streamlined layout:

The blog entry listing pages have also been redesigned to this updated style:

And the blog detail page has changed from this:

Entries now have a ton of breathing room, and the new comment style carries over from the updated Videos and Photos sections.

We've also added a file upload button to our new text editor:

A "random" display option on the Photos and Videos main pages:
