2nd Phil Guy International Day
The Phil Guy International Day it is an idea created in 2009 by Dario Lombardo (Phil' s guitar player in Europe for 21 years), Lisa Mallen (Phil' s manager) and by the Phil Guy' s Family.
April 28th it was Phil Guy' s birthday, and we thought that it was the better day to remember him.
For the second time we call all the musicians who shared the stage with Phil being part of his bands or jamming into a club or during a Blues Fest, all of his friends and fans to remember him and his music with a series of events all over the world.
Last year we have had events for almost ten days in USA (Illinois, Indiana, Colorado, Hawaii) and Europe (Italy, Spain, Norway, Finland, Belgium, Latvia, Russia), and we hope to do the same (and maybe more!) this year.
It is really easy: if you have a gig, or you can organize something like a radio interview about Phil, a radio program about him, a lecture into a bookstore or a guitar clinic you just got to do it writing on posters, adv, newspapers that it is part of the 2nd Phil Guy International Day and explaining to the people what it is. This year April 28th it will be a Wednesday, the worst day in the week for music... as we did last year we have established to have events from Wed, Apr 21st until Sat May 1st, this to help everybody giving more opportunities to be into the 2nd PGID.

Hi everybody.. we will have two more concerts here in Italy.. we have decided to add one more week to the 2nd Phil Guy International Day(s)... Last two shows will be performed one by Sergio Montaleni (former guitar player with Model T Boogie Band, the band Phil was playing with in Italy in the '80s) and one by myself: here are all the infos.
May 7th: Sergio Montaleni Trio, "La Cantinetta", Firenze, Italy
May 8th: Closing act, Dariio Lombardo guitar solo, "Art in Town", Torino, Italy

And we have two entries here in Italy too... Wed, April 28th, Andy Romeo will play at the Kitchen Mon Amour, Genova. On Sun, May 2nd, Giancarlo Crea & C.T. Band will play at 3 1/2 Miles, Tremezzo, Como.
Andy Romeo is a saxophone player, he played with Phil & me between 1990 and 1993, and you can listen to his sax on our cd "Working Together".
Harmonica player Giancarlo Crea was the band leader of Model T Boogie, the band that kept on playing with Phil Guy here in Italy, 1987 - 1990. I was one of the two guitar players in the band.

Good news from Chicago... Friday 16th & Sat 17th two other Blues artists got into the celebrations of the 2nd Phil Guy International Day... Vance Kelly played the B.L.U.E.S. club and Nellie "Tiger" Travis did the Majestic Star Riverboat.
Another thing, the band that played with Delores scott at Lee' s Unleaded was
Sir Walter Scott & the World Band
